The Challenge
This was not just a production overview for managers. The data had to make sense for everyone and help individual contributers do their jobs more effectively.
We used a lean, iterative process using Keynote
I based the wireframe on time cards that would easily match mental models for managers and direct reports.
Using iChat and 1-on-1 meetings for feedback, we worked on the live prototype

Edits on interaction design elements including opacity, animations, transitions and use of color to show progress.
1-on-1
Meeting regularly to refine the interface and user experience, I taught the engineer how to design with empathy.
The Result
Our solution was quickly embraced by team members and managers who relied heavily on it to keep track of their own work every day. Users could see how they were doing during the course of the day against dynamic daily forecasts and historical data. Managers were able to see group overviews and drill down to individual team member production by the hour.
Individual contributers began to report higher work satisfaction and lower workload anxiety. As a result, team productivity and quality of work was improved.
